UKB Electronics manufactures technologically advanced Fire-Survival Cables, also known as Circuit Integrity Cables. These cables are engineered to remain operational for a specified duration during a fire, ensuring that critical life-safety and firefighting systems function when they are needed most. Our cables are rigorously tested to leading fire performance standards like BS 7846 and IEC 60331.
Product Anatomy
The core of a fire-survival cable is its unique multi-layer construction. The copper conductor is first wrapped in a primary fire barrier of mica glass tape. This layer provides exceptional thermal insulation, maintaining circuit integrity even in direct flame. This is then covered by high-grade, cross-linked insulation and finally sheathed in a Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) compound, which minimizes toxic gas emission in a fire.
Key Features & Customisation Options
The life-saving reliability of our cables stems from our integrated manufacturing processes:
When life safety is on the line, there is no room for compromise. Our vertical integration, particularly in applying the mica fire barrier and compounding our own LSZH materials, provides an unparalleled level of quality assurance. By controlling every critical manufacturing step, we deliver fire-survival cables with certified reliability that you can trust to perform in an emergency.
